Team Packet Setup
Box up race numbers and t-shirts for teams who have pre-registered.
Monitor the bounce house and slide to make sure the kids are safe, and there aren't too many on it at one time. This position will be outside.
Fill in for any of the positions listed, if needed.
Greet participants and guide them to the correct registration line. Make sure that registration forms and pens are stocked throughout the day.
Packet Pick Up
Hand out race numbers and t-shirts to pre-registered participants.
Volunteers will stay with the selfie station and encourage people to take pictures in the frame, post them to social media using #GobbleJog.
Step and Repeat Photo Station
Encourage people to have their picture taken (with their cell phone) in front of the step and repeat. You are also there to protect the step and repeat and ensure it doesn't get knocked over and encourage people to post to social media using #GobbleJog.
Team Packet Pickup
Hand out team boxes to the team captains. You may also have to box up race numbers and t-shirts for last-minute requests.
Work with the packet pickup and registration volunteers to get the correct size t-shirt for each participant. Restock t-shirts throughout your shift.
Wear the turkey mascot costume and greet and take pictures with the participants. You have to be between 5'4" and 5'10" to wear the costume. You will have a handler to help you get in and out of the costume, guide you through the crowd. etc. This is listed as a separate volunteer position.
Hand out bags and shirts to our VIP registrants.
Register new participants. Run their credit cards and give them race numbers and shirts. Volunteers for this position must be at least 18 years old.
Event Set Up
Assist MUST and race management staff with unloading the box truck, set up of registration, t-shirts, food and beverages area, etc. You must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
Work in the volunteer area checking volunteers in and out. Oversee replenishment of volunteer refreshments.
Oversee the hand-held radios for staff and key volunteers. Sign them in and out.
Fill in for any positions, if needed.
On Course Volunteer Team Captain
Responsible for day of logistics for on course volunteers. For example, they will ensure the on course water station volunteers understand their job roles, know where the stations are, etc. They will also be in charge of the volunteers who will be calling out times on the course.
Hand out race numbers to pre-registered participants.
Race Day Registration
Register new participants. Run their credit cards and hand out race numbers.
Hand out t-shirts to registered runners.
Turkey Mascot Handler
Walk around with the turkey to make sure he doesn't trip over anyone. Direct him to the people who want to take pictures.
Stand at various points along the course to guide runners and cheer them on. Because of the proximity to traffic, volunteers for this position must be at least 18 years old.
Mile Split Callers
Stand at the mile split points on the course and call them out to runners. Because of the proximity to traffic, volunteers for this position must be at least 18 years old.
Finish Line Encouragement
Cheer on the runners as they cross the finish line, and keep them moving toward the food and water area. This is a good volunteer position for younger kids, but a parent must also volunteer with them.
Food/Water at Start/Finish Line
Hand out water and snacks to runners as they finish. Restock the area as necessary.
Monitor iPhone and Generator
Volunteer will be on the race course ensuring the generator and iPhone are safe and that the music keeps playing.
Step and Repeat Photo Station
Encourage people to have their picture taken (with their cell phone) in front of the step and repeat. They will also be there to protect the step and repeat and ensure it doesn't accidentally get knocked over.
Turkey Mascot Photographer
This volunteer will follow Colonel MUSTard around and take pictures of the turkey posing with kids, dancing, high 5'ing, running and clowning with our runners/walkers.
Water Station at the 1.5 Mile Marker
Pour water into cups and hand out to runners as they pass by. Clean up the paper cups that get thrown on the ground.

Pour water into cups and hand out to runners as they pass by. Clean up paper cups that get thrown on the ground.
Race Results and Awards
Hand out awards and/or medals to the race winners. Track who picks up their awards. The race management company will supply you with the list of winners.
Assist MUST and race management staff with breakdwon of registration, t-shirts, food and beverage area, etc. Load remaining supplies onto trucks. You must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
Tot Trot Course Monitor
Stand along the tot trot course and make sure the kids are going the correct way. Some monitors will also run with the kids to make sure they're safe. Any volunteer for this assignment must be at least 18 years old.
On Course Poster Holders
Stand along the race route, holding funny posters which will be provided, while cheering and encouraging the runners
